John Naizby was raised in a small dairy town in upstate New York. He grew up with his sister, mother, maternal grandparents, and great grandmother; he lost his father at the age of three. John knew from an early age that he wanted to be involved in helping people; ultimately that is what led him to the law.
John started his career as a public defender, and eventually became an insurance defense attorney. For over 20 years now though, John has exclusively represented people (not Insurance companies). A graduate and senior instructor at the Trial Lawyers College, John was recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer 2006-2017, and continues to help people who have been negatively impacted by instances of personal injury stemming from negligence.
As a result of his hard work and dedication, John has received the America’s Top 100 Attorneys Lifetime Achievement Award, is an invited member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and has earned membership in both Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Since the year 2000, John has been a Board Certified Civil Lawyer. He has tried over 50 cases to verdict and has seen thousands more through all stages of litigation, a sampling of which includes: connective tissue cases; medical malpractice; complex construction site accidents; negligent security claims; hospital negligence; nursing home abuse; wrongful death; traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries; product liability claims; sexual abuse claims; motor vehicle crashes; and tractor-trailer crashes.
Over the course of his career, John has had the pleasure of representing good people and their families, some of whom have lost loved ones, and is humbled by the friendships and connections he has made along the way. He attributes the success he has had in the courtroom to the people he has represented. Because of his ability to relate to their stories, John has been able to effectively convey those stories to the juries he’s handled cases in front of.
John now lives in Connecticut with his family, and pursues justice for his clients as a licensed attorney not only there, but also in Florida and New York as well. Additionally, he appears on behalf of clients in all other states at the request of local counsel, actually having consulted on cases in all fifty states.
When he isn’t in the courtroom, John enjoys the outdoors, staying active, and spending time with his family and two German Wirehaired Pointers. He has completed three Ironman races, and has climbed both the second and third highest mountains in Mexico - both over 17,000 feet.
For John, there could be no higher honor than being of service to others doing something he loves, while at the same time providing for his family. He looks forward to meeting and assisting new clients in whatever ways he can, and enjoys working with and getting to know not only those clients, but other attorneys as well.
In addition to having experience in representing people in all types of injury claims, John has also had the misfortune of experiencing a misdiagnosis, yet is a stage IV cancer survivor. Having gone through that experience has allowed John to personally experience what it is like for his clients facing their own mortality.
