June is National Safety Month, as designated by the National Safety Council, a nongovernmental public service organization with a mission to “eliminate preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education, and advocacy.”
Safety is a critical issue no matter where you go. Unfortunate and avoidable accidents can strike anytime and anyplace, leading to victims who sometimes face long recoveries, missed time from work, and exorbitant medical bills. In the worst cases, fatalities can be involved. That’s why it’s wise to take time and reflect on what we can do to prevent such accidents for ourselves and loved ones.
